In response to the success of Christmas Infusion and the Holiday Radio Show in 2020, Culture for Seniors held new editions for both musical events last December.

Infusion de Noël 2021 : A Musical Quilt

Produced, directed, and edited by Marie-Anne Catry, a music artist from the Estrie region, this online show featured video performances from over 150 musicians and choir performers. The artist used a few original songs of her own with traditional pieces of holiday music to stitch together what she herself called a musical quilt, intended to warm the hearts of everyone when yet another lockdown compromised festive get-togethers.

Marie-Anne Catry, artistic director

“I felt as though I was knitting a huge, comforting, enveloping blanket, meshing thread together representing the efforts, smiles, joys, and inner child of each person involved, to offer as gifts for a Christmas bigger than ourselves.” Marie-Anne Catry, artistic director

Presented from December 20, 2021, to January 4, 2022, on the Culture for Seniors Facebook page and the Au Pied des Monts YouTube channel, Infusion de Noël was also broadcast on MAtv and TVME community TV, attracting more than 1000 people and 500 hours of listening time.

Holiday Radio Show

Broadcast on December 24, 25, and 26, 2021, on CJMQ, the program is a production by our partner Ed Humphrey of the Townshippers’ Association. A friendly and dynamic host, Ed offered us a program filled with humour and good-natured fun. In addition to the traditional music and Christmas stories, we were also introduced to another facet of the stars of our Words of Wisdom series.

Two participants from our videos and podcasts talked to Ed Humphrey about their best holiday memories. Students from 3rd and 4th year from Richmond’s St. Francis Elementary School also took part in the show by sharing some of their favourite Christmas traditions.
